What are Sensory Toys?

A sensory toy may have characteristics such as bright and contrasting colours, make specific sounds or contain multiple textures. They allow children to engage in the senses in a safe way.
Why is Sensory Play important?
Sensory toys and sensory play are important for a number of reasons such as supporting language development, problem solving, social interaction, fine and gross motor skills. Sensory play can also help calm and anxious or frustrated child.
